MultiMiner is a user-friendly graphical tool designed for cryptocurrency mining on various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. This application streamlines the process of switching between different hardware devices (such as GPUs, ASICs, FPGAs, and CPUs) for various cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Monero, Zcash, and more. It also allows you to manage a range of mining hardware connected to your network, including AntMiners, G-Black miners, Raspberry Pi controllers, Spondoolies, and others.

MultiMiner utilizes a core mining engine (BFGMiner) to identify available mining devices and provides an interactive interface that allows users to select which coins to mine.

Main Interface

MultiMiner supports mining a variety of cryptocurrencies that utilize the following algorithms right out of the box:

  • SHA256
  • Scrypt
  • CryptoNight
  • Equihash
  • Ethash
  • Pascal
  • Groestl
  • Keccak
  • Lyra2RE
  • NeoScrypt
  • Quark
  • Scrypt-Jane
  • Scrypt-N
  • X11
  • X13
  • X14
  • X15

In addition, users can add custom algorithms, coins, and miners as long as there are CGMiner, BFGMiner, or SGMiner forks available that support those algorithms.

For more details on how to add unsupported algorithms, refer to the following sections:

  • GPU Algorithms
  • Backend Miners

MultiMiner also includes a console application (TUI) designed for low-power devices like ARM-based miners.

Brief View

For beginners, MultiMiner features a comprehensive Getting Started guide that assists you in selecting a mining engine, a cryptocurrency, and a mining pool.

Getting Started

The application automatically downloads and installs the latest version of BFGMiner, making it easy for newcomers to dive into mining.

Downloading and Installing

You can configure individual coins and their respective pools using the Configure Pools dialog, which also includes load-balancing support.

Configure Coins

MultiMiner can automatically mine the most profitable coins based on a defined set of strategies. Profitability data is updated frequently from resources like CoinWarz and WhatToMine.

Configure Strategies

Additional functionalities include automatically restarting crashed miners, launching at system start-up, minimizing to the notification area, and initiating mining on startup.

Settings

You can leverage MultiMiner's interface to modify advanced parameters such as API white-listing, disabling GPU mining, and dynamically adjusting mining intensity relative to the system's idle state.

Downloads

Installers and zip files for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Mono are available on the GitHub Releases page.

Drivers

Based on your operating system and the mining hardware you intend to utilize, you may need one or more of the following drivers or kernel extensions:

Installation Instructions

  • Windows
  • Linux
  • macOS
  • ARM Installation (BeagleBone, Raspberry Pi)
  • Generic Mono

FAQ

How can I reset the setup wizard or delete all my MultiMiner settings?
You can reset settings by deleting the contents of %appdata%\MultiMiner (enter this in the address bar of Windows Explorer). Please ensure MultiMiner is closed before doing this. Once done, restart MultiMiner.

Should I adjust my GPU settings (like overclocking) using a tool like MSI Afterburner, or through config flags in MultiMiner?
It's advisable to use utilities such as MSI Afterburner. While you can configure settings through BFGMiner in MultiMiner, should a crash occur, it might leave your settings in an unstable state. Dedicated GPU utilities are typically more reliable.

I found useful information in the Support thread or through exploration that should be included in the FAQ. How can I contribute?
You can easily contribute by creating a pull request to add to the FAQ, or by emailing your questions and answers to [email protected] (Q&A submissions without answers will not be considered).

Source Code

The source code of MultiMiner is structured for easy access and repurposing for other projects:

  • MultiMiner.Xgminer: An assembly for managing the BFGMiner executable, including launching and device enumeration.
  • MultiMiner.Xgminer.Api: Facilitates communication with the underlying miner using the RPC API.
  • MultiMiner.CoinWarz: Assists in obtaining cryptocurrency data from CoinWarz.com.
  • MultiMiner.WhatToMine: Assists in acquiring data from WhatToMine.com.
  • MultiMiner.Engine: An assembly for interacting with all MultiMiner functionalities without a UI, suited for developing front-ends for different operating systems.
  • MultiMiner.Win: The Windows Forms application.

Example Code

Here, we demonstrate how to use MultiMiner.Xgminer.dll and MultiMiner.Xgminer.Api.dll to install BFGMiner, cycle through available mining devices, and launch the mining process.

Following that, the BFGMiner RPC API retrieves the miner's hashrate for a minute before halting the mining. You can test the code within the MultiMiner.Example project.
