I aimed to integrate OpenCV version 4 or later with AutoIt. Although I discovered an OpenCV User Defined Function (UDF) on a forum, it unfortunately did not support the latest version of OpenCV.

This particular UDF now offers compatibility with OpenCV v4+, enabling enhanced functionality and ease of use.

Update

A recent implementation utilizes COM (Component Object Model) for interactions, making it remarkably user-friendly, comparable to Python. Furthermore, it allows for seamless interaction with GDI+.

Installation Steps

  1. Download and extract opencv-4.10.0-windows.exe into a preferred directory.
  2. Download and extract autoit-opencv-4.10.0-com-v2.6.2.7z into another folder.

Other Applications

Further examples include screen capturing, template matching, and video capture, illustrating the versatility of this integration. Here is a brief overview of the available functionalities:

  • Screen Capture: Capture a portion of the screen and display it.
  • Template Matching: Find specific templates within images.
  • Video Capture from Files and Cameras: Stream video from saved files or live camera feeds.

Conclusion

This integration of OpenCV v4+ with AutoIt enhances the capabilities of both platforms, allowing for efficient image processing and graphical user interface development. By following the above instructions and utilizing these examples, users can easily implement computer vision features within their AutoIt applications.
