In this guide, I’ll demonstrate how to create a "D:" partition on your computer without needing to reinstall your operating system. This can be especially beneficial if you’re using the WorldEditor or any applications related to Metin2, or for general storage needs.

Step 1: Check for Existing "D:" Drive

First, let's verify whether you already have a "D:" drive formatted on your PC. Look through your hard drives or any removable media to see if there's already a "D:" labeled drive.

Checking Drives

Step 2: If You Already Have a "D:" Drive

If you find an existing drive with the letter "D:", follow these steps:

  1. Press Start + R on your keyboard, then type diskmgmt.msc and hit OK.
  2. Right-click on the "D:" partition, and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  3. Click on Change, then select a different drive letter (e.g., "P") from the list and click OK.

Step 3: Creating a New "D:" Partition

If there isn’t any partition designated as "D:", you can create one by following these steps:

  1. Right-click on any partition that has sufficient space and select Shrink Volume.
  2. Remember, to convert the following values: "1 GB" = "1024 MB", so "10 GB" = "10240 MB".
  3. Specify the amount of space (in MB) you wish to shrink from the existing partition and click Shrink.

Special Instructions for Windows 8 Users

  • For those using Windows 8, the following steps need to be completed next:
    • Right-click on the unallocated space and select New Simple Volume.
  • Alternatively, right-click on New Partition / Unallocated and then select New Simple Volume.

Finally, click OK to complete the process. If you wish, you can change the file format of the new partition at your own discretion.
