The miner installation, injection, and watchdog functionalities have been completely re-coded in native C++, making it compatible with 64-bit operating systems without any additional requirements. The injection feature enables the miner to run covertly, hidden behind other processes like conhost.exe and svchost.exe. The miner can be configured to run at different levels of CPU and GPU usage, or not at all, depending on whether the computer is in use or idle. In addition, the stealth feature can pause the miner and clear the GPU memory whenever specific programs listed under the "Stealth Targets" option are opened.

The watchdog component monitors the miner file and replaces it if it's removed, or starts it again if the injected miner is closed down. Multiple miners can be created to operate simultaneously, such as one CPU miner for XMR and one GPU miner for ETH. The miner supports both CPU and GPU mining on Nvidia and AMD devices. Windows Defender Exclusions can be added to avoid detection after starting the miner. The miner also has a process killer feature that checks for any programs in the "Kill Targets" list and terminates them if found.

Furthermore, the miner can be remotely configured by obtaining the miner settings from a specified URL every 100 minutes. Web panel support is also included, enabling the efficient monitoring and configuration of all the miners through a self-hosted online web panel at no cost.

The term 'Startup' refers to the option that allows the miner to initiate itself during Windows startup. If the miner is launched with admin privileges, it will append itself to the Task Scheduler, and if run with normal user privileges, it will add itself to the registry entry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

'Save Path' denotes the primary path where the miner replicates itself and integrates into the startup entry. If the miner is installed as an admin with "Run as System" enabled, the path will be automatically set to "Program Files" (%ProgramFiles%), facilitating its accessibility and execution for all users.

'Entry Name' signifies the name of the startup entry in the registry or the Task Scheduler.

'File Name' implies the name of the file that the miner will install itself with. You can even include folder names with the format Folder1\Folder2\miner.exe (for example).

The 'Watchdog' acts as a separate process injected into conhost.exe, constantly monitoring whether the miner is running correctly and located in the 'Save Path' folder. If the miner is not running, but the file is present, the watchdog will start it. If the miner is running, but the file is not present, it will copy the file and start the miner (without injecting if already injected). And if the miner is not running, and the file is gone, it will copy the file there and start the miner.

'Auto-delete' is the feature that allows the miner to remove the original file that was initially launched after it has finished installing.

'Run as System' is the feature that enables the miner to run as the System user during startup, provided it is installed as an administrator. When running as System, the miner will start at computer startup and run on all user sessions. This feature also installs the miner inside %ProgramFiles%, ensuring stable access for all users.

 

The 'Assembly' section is fairly straightforward and requires little explanation. Windows uses the assembly information to display the miner in various locations, and it can also be viewed by right-clicking on the miner and checking its properties.

Similarly, the 'Icon' section is self-explanatory, and simply applies the selected icon to the compiled miner.

 

The 'Run as Administrator' option prompts the miner to request administrator privileges upon start-up. This is necessary for features such as 'Add Defender Exclusions' and 'Install Rootkit', as they require modifications that can only be performed by administrators.

'Add Defender Exclusions' attempts to add exclusions to the miner and watchdog's general folders before they are extracted and run. This is particularly useful for evading future detections. This option requires administrator privileges, and was previously known as 'Kill Windows Defender' and 'Bypass Windows Defender'.

'Disable Windows Update' prevents Windows Update and related components from running, meaning that no new updates will be found or installed for Windows or some parts of Windows Defender. Enabling this option may also prevent Windows Defender from being updated, as it receives updates from Windows Update. Although Windows may occasionally re-enable Windows Update, and the user may use the troubleshooter to re-enable everything, in testing, Windows Update could not be easily restored due to the fact that this option attempts to permanently disable it by removing some critical files. Regardless, even if Windows Update is re-enabled, the miner will re-disable it upon each start-up.

 

- WARNING: This option is most likely irreversible, the uninstaller will not revert the settings changed by this option.
If you accidentally ran it on your computer and want Windows Update back then most likely you can use a Windows CD/USB to repair your Windows installation.

 

Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) Prevention:

To ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the computer, the miners and watchdog will be classified as critical processes. This categorization implies that terminating these processes will trigger a BSoD. Additionally, an alert will pop up if the user tries to end these processes using the Task Manager or other tools.

Disabling Sleep Mode:

The sleep and hibernation modes on the computer will be disabled.

Note: The uninstaller will not reset these configurations as it lacks knowledge of the initial values.

Blocking Websites:

By inserting domain names in the designated field, they will be added to the hosts file, thereby blocking their access. The hosts file only impedes the usage of the primary domain; thus, to block a website completely, both its www and non-www versions should be blocked, for example: site1.com,

Enhanced Settings:

Activate Miner Post-Installation:

If you choose to deactivate this option, the miner will not launch immediately after being installed. Consequently, it will install and then terminate. However, the miner will automatically launch on subsequent system start-ups.

Incorporate Rootkit:

This feature will install a modified version of the r77 rootkit, which conceals the miner's activities, startup entries, and network traffic. Since this option is intricate, it is considered experimental, and we suggest exercising caution when using it. To use this option, Administrator privileges are necessary.

What settings are recommended?

You may browse the wiki to learn about the various functions and decide which ones you want to enable. However, I suggest including at least one CPU and GPU miner, such as an XMR/RTM miner and an ETH/ETC miner. I also recommend utilizing the "Remote Configuration" option and the Web Panel, if possible, in case you need to alter your configurations. Adding Defender exclusions is also beneficial to prevent future detections on computers that already have the miner installed. Additionally, if you want to prolong the miner's lifespan, consider enabling "Disable Windows Update" since it will halt all future updates, some of which may potentially remove the miner.

You can locate user-contributed lists for the "Stealth Targets," "Kill Targets," and "Block Websites" features on GitHub by examining the "Discussions" tab in the menu. The "Stealth Targets" are particularly crucial for the GPU miner since they allow you to pause the miner while the user is engaged in gaming or similar activities to prevent disruptions.

These settings are fully ready for mining. You can essentially just load these settings, change the wallet addresses of the ETC and XMR miners to your own and be done. These settings make some permanent changes to the computer so they're not recommended to use for testing on important computers, it's best to use a Virtual Machine if you want to test with these settings.

Don't worry, as long as you've selected the correct algorithm and your CPU or GPU is being utilized, your rig is functioning properly. However, for your rig to appear on the pool, it needs to mine a share and submit it. Pools operate in this manner to optimize performance and bandwidth. The time it takes to mine a share can vary depending on factors such as hashrate, pool share difficulty, and luck. For instance, on nanopool, the share difficulty is 10GH, meaning that with a hashrate of 10MH/s, the average time to find a share would be 1000 seconds.

If the hashrate displayed on the pool differs from your expectations or what is shown on the web panel, it could be because pools use a different method for calculating hashrate. How can I uninstall the miner?

To uninstall the miner, you can execute [MINERNAME]-uninstaller.exe located in the same folder as the miner. This will automatically terminate and remove all components of the miner.

However, if you need to uninstall it manually, first ensure that you have enabled the 'Startup' and 'Watchdog' features. Then, kill the conhost.exe process with a scrambled text argument (e.g., conhost.exe fhweiowe) and terminate the miner (the process you have injected into, by default conhost.exe).
